I personally do not like online teaching because it limited me to what I could have done with the content if it were a face-to-face lesson with learners. To some extent I did enjoy it as I could become creative with the online tools that I could use to teach the content, thus opening me up to more ways to teach content that can also be used in a classroom setting. This was interesting for me but I struggled a lot with creating the digital content, constantly testing the content to make sure that it worked and that there would be no issues for when I needed to use it in the online platform. I can now see what teachers went through during COVID. What I would have changed was the tool I used to enhance my lesson, as I couldn’t see the progress that the ‘players’ made in the game and needed them to share their scores with me when they were done, and that all players wouldn’t finish at the same time as everyone, so those who got through the game fast ended up waiting for everyone else, and those who took long felt pressured to finish faster thus, didn’t promote active learning, it more so encouraged them to finish faster and not actually sit and see what they could remember from the game. I enjoyed the online tool that I used for the presentation of the content, as it was different and I could present the content in an engaging manner and not simply use a basic presentation style for the content, I could deign it to match what we were covering in that lesson so as we progressed through the content, they were able to make real life contentions and were able to see, through pictures and graphics, what I was referring to. I do feel I also used too many digital tools which it made it difficult to keep up with what I needed to focus on for that lesson as I kept having to switch between each platform.
